My mig lives in an open fronted shed and after a heavy dewy night the wire roll is wet through with condensation.
Used to rust up terribly until I started draping an oily rag over the reel. Problem solved!

Sounds good we run two migs its just we have moved workshops an its a bit damp in there at the moment. Had thought about lining the inside of the spool housing with bubble-wrap to insulate it a bit. Do you put the light inside the spool cover?
yes lay it in bottom of spool box and just leave it on

am i the only one that still just has ark welder ?

My latest welder (&first MIG) is a dual machine, mig &ark, I.e. one earth lead, one ark lead &1x mig gubbings.

Brilliant for finest farm yard engineering- I.e. building stuff out of new steel and old steel ranging from "abit" rusty to flakey rusty :D

It's also inverter, so nice and smooth welding! (y)
