Beware of psoriatic arthritis as have been suffering for years as my doctors knew nothing about it. Went to have an operation on ankle when luckily surgeon diagnosed it! Now pain free due to medication.

I used to have a mild case on my elbows, and it did flare up worse if my other joints were bad, my GP said as above due to arthritis, he only prescribed a cortisone cream, which made it much worse.

I thought I would try a dab of udder cream on it a few years ago, did a little patch test, and it didnt make it worse, so slathered it on. You can still see if you look closely where the worst was, but it never ever breaks out now.

I use the Gold Label brand, did try the equimins one, but that stung a fair bit.

Got the arthritis about15 years ago, you are right, the GP didn't know what was wrong, but fortunately did send me to a specialist. He soon had it sussed, andive been on various drugs since, the current one being the best so far.
The psoriasis just flares up every now and then, to varying degrees, nothing to bad but a bit annoying.

Would any diet related changes help? You mentioned no alcohol, which is dehydrating, but what about increasing dairy products for the fat content to hydrate/moisturise from the inside?

I'm a recent convert to juicing, following Jason Vale's programme, feel much better and a stone lighter - he apparently had psoriasis and drinking juice and eating no rubbish cleared it up. Worth a look perhaps? www.juicemaster.com and his film which is good is on YouTube

  20. No Getting worse Frank farmer will take you picture of worst bits. That's why wont do foreign or any holiday or eve learnt or to swim in public. Very conscious of it am sat itching my leg now as writing this and looks like sawdust dropping out of trouser leg Alice. Diet wise don't know. But drink drives it mad. Especially few years ago had a night out with a polish lass and was on the vodka and home brew potato fire water and skin itched for days after with. Drink not. Std Ha ha before you comment. So just put up with it. Cold wet weather and if skin cracks Quite painful.
