Public Accounts Committee enquiry into ELMS

Have just received the Public Accounts Committee report on ELMS, and associated press release. I think 'damning' pretty much covers it. It is embargoed until Sunday so will post on here then, just starting a thread now in case anyone else who has had it is less worried about such niceties and wants to put it up now.
(go on @holwellcourtfarm you know you want to :) ).

Patience is a virtue young man. I still have two Xmas presents to unwrap yet.

I guess those of us in Wales are unaffected by any of this?

Only by default ... in that our glorious overlords will see how it pans out for the Saes and then magpie the better bits (although it is very unlikely that they would have such foresight)

90% of Wales is LFA so not much needs to be changed IMO esp if you want to retain farmers - and by default - the language

I've read most of it. It just shows what a mess Europe and the corporate food system have got us into really.

I don't think the incompetence is news, it's ongoing. You read that and wonder what the hell MAFF and defra have been doing for the last 50 years.

Looks damming but not really unexpected. Boris' trade mark is basically to wing it and hope he doesn't ever get called to account. Be interesting to see how much money ever actually gets to farmers in the end. From what I remember, about 40% of CAP money was syphoned off by the government for its administration costs.
