More government cronyism afoot? PHE is to be scrapped despite doing something like 80-90% of all the track tracing with a small budget and staff to be taken over by incompetent Dido Harding's leviathan that's only contribution to covid-19 has been to swallow up vast amounts of taxpayers money. Oh, and she just happens to be married to Tory MP John Penrose who sits on the advisory board of think tank ‘1828’ which calls for the NHS to be replaced by a US style insurance system. :banghead:

Trying to maintain sanity by not getting involved in all these type of threads. It's a mess and stinks, but ultimately it's likely a case of change the name and give the illusion that the government has made a difference but all will continue as before. PHE goes way beyond Covid and much of what they do is done well. I have no insight into the specifics of Covid, but did work with them closely on a previous project when they were called something different - I suspect that the same people are there now still, and will be again in another five years - a different sign on the door, but the same good work being done.

The worrying part is:

and most worryingly..
