public liability insurance

The basic policy is up to 10 million on public liability. I am unsure if this is enough in today`s world, if heaven forbid it was ever needed? Has anyone else felt the need to increase this amount? TIA

Yeah we asked the question due to a number of concerns.

It's seems this is an arbitrary figure anyway, NFU don't IIRC offer any more and nor do most others.

Mrs PM organises the stalls for the local multi-village show, it is held on Army land.

The MOD insist on each stallholder having 10 million cover.

If it is good enough for the MOD......

Funnily enough I am having a conversation with an insurer this morning about PL and EL limits as it is now being recommended that we all look to £20 million as being the standard limit. Changes in laws have led to higher potential claims and so I think that it will not be long before this is rolled out across the board. But for now £10 million is standard.
