Yes if you have beakes on the rear trailer or muckspread law is one loaded trailer & one empty trailer , you will need a second braking system if you are on oil brakes on air just have your air lines piped to the back of your low loader then you can plug your second machine inJust looking into some contracting ways and just wondering if I can pull a low loader with a telehandler on it and then have a muck spreader or tipping trailer on the back.
okey dokey.good to knowYes if you have beakes on the rear trailer or muckspread law is one loaded trailer & one empty trailer , you will need a second braking system if you are on oil brakes on air just have your air lines piped to the back of your low loader then you can plug your second machine in
When did the law get changed then ?Yes if you have beakes on the rear trailer or muckspread law is one loaded trailer & one empty trailer , you will need a second braking system if you are on oil brakes on air just have your air lines piped to the back of your low loader then you can plug your second machine in
that is the law as i was pulled up in the summer one sat morning by VOSA & the cops only thing that they were not happy about was they said i was speeding , with they said they were going to do me for but i have never hear a word from them,When did the law get changed then ?
Just interested
sorry but you are wrong on that oneNO
For example tow two trailers up to a certain length but neither can be loaded and loaded means even if you put your sandwich box in one of trailers ,that is classed as a load .
I do not need to prove to any one , we do it all the time & have been stopped by VOSA a few times & they are happy with us so what is the problem , All so it is a a very grey area as they can be trailed appliance loaded as well & you can tow two of theseYou won't need to prove it to me let's have some documentation
It reads one trailer and one agricultural trailed appliance, it does not state it must be an empty trailer, in the reg above it, if towing two agricultural trailers they must be empty, is this the loop hole or am I reading it wrong. Both have to be empty according to construction and use regulations
The Road Vehicles (Construction and Use) Regulations 1986

Sorry to have to correct you, their secretaries have the best grammar, spelling, punctuation and frequently most of the brains.I find lawyers always have the best grammar, spelling and punctuation.
Good point! However both examples given in the opening post are an empty trailer being pulled behind a loaded trailer so don't comply with the regulations. It reads one trailer and one agricultural trailed appliance, it does not state it must be an empty trailer, in the reg above it, if towing two agricultural trailers they must be empty, is this the loop hole or am I reading it wrong.
In the eyes of the law that's a tractor pulling a loaded trailer and an empty trailer so tell your friend it'll all be fine if the eyes of the law don't see itAgreed, but i was more thinking along the lines of a tractor, pulling a lowloader with a handler on it, and also towing a 18cube dung spreader. . ( asking for a friend obviously. ).
Is it not a loaded trailer and a ag appliance? In the eyes of the law that's a tractor pulling a loaded trailer and an empty trailer so tell your friend it'll all be fine if the eyes of the law don't see it
No, the spreader is a trailer, not an agricultural trailed appliance. An agricultural trailed appliance is something like a baler. Is it not a loaded trailer and a ag appliance?
