Well you need room for - the Butty bag (that’s the main one), flask, few bottles of water, any control boxes for non iso implements, mount for the iPad, documentation/map folders, I usually have the rifle for picking off a few wabbits, few of the essential tools for changing shear bolts/adjustments etc, if I’m baling I usually stick the leaf blower in the corner, plus all the other things I can’t think of. I also like to spin the seat so I can stretch my legs out as the one with all the pins in starts to ache after a bit.
Its nice to have enough room to stretch on them 16-17h + days.
Hope you never roll your tractor with all that stuff in there!🤦‍♂️

Have just gone from red to green. Quite liked the case cab just not the reliability. Jd cab feels bigger and bit more cubby holes for bits and pieces. Case is definitely a jump on and go, taken me nearly six weeks to get up to the command pro and operating but really like it now. First couple weeks I was doubting the choice. Only small gripe is it’s a pain seeing the hitch if you twitch your arse of the seat it stops.

It sounds a lot but it just gets lost in the cab to be honest. Plus my days of driving tractors like a rally car are well gone, I have to fix/pay for them if they get broken so generally treat them with respect. But never say never! Also 710’s at 80” keep it pretty stable.

I'm sure a man of your abilities could easily fabricate a suitable external tool box!

I have one but stops RH door/escape hatch opening. So maybe not much safer.🤷‍♂️

I'm always impressed/jealous of the size of JD cabs. When I sit in one. The forward visibility miles better than Cnh too.

After years of struggling to work around people’s home made toolbox’s I just can’t bring myself to fit one 🤦🏻‍♂️🤣

I find I’m my puma that as I’m 6ft 2 tall I struggle to get my legs stretched out with the seat turned. The seat in my opinion doesn’t go far enough back either when straight forward.
I’m a fraction under 6ft and puma seat don’t go back far enough imo.

in cab storage is crap as well. And as for mounting control boxes…. That needs a lot of fiddling and fabrication if some sort of right hand line of sight visibility is to be retained.

the blue ones are no better. The old TM cab was superior in a lot of ways.

Yes totally agree with you there. Cnh defiantly went backwards when they made the current cab. If a change is coming then I hope they don’t go a step backwards again.

Depends wether the bloke designing the thing has ever actually driven a tractor out of a T junction with a GPS screen and baler box bolted in the cab.

and needs somewhere to store a pen, a tape measure some paperwork a phone a few other bits and bobs and a drinks holder thats useable when a passenger is in the cab….

They puma I got secondhand in spring has the l shape bracket for mounting things on which I find impairs vision. And there were 2 sticker on the window aswell that bloked vision when trying to pull out of a junction. I carnt believe the previous driver hadn’t taken them off.

Bit of angle iron bolted to the underside of that bar with a series of holes drilled in it lowers most boxes so side vision isn’t impaired.

Well I,m 6ft1 and have no problem fitting in the cab of a puma 200cvx, what positions are you all wanting to get into ffs, have the L bracket in for control boxes, fit them on the underside and the vision is better but not fantastic but where else do you put them in any tractor, as for storage because it has GPS it doesn't have the box in rear left corner but a tray which I have a small plastic box with clip lid that fits in there keep note book, pens, phone charger and sunglasses in it, box in front of steering wheel holds 2L bottle no problem and keeps it cool also has a few other bits n bobs in, a plastic box folder keeps paperwork clean and tidy and fits in gap behind spare seat, tools are in tool box outside and link balls are on the holders outside, I have made a small box that bolts to left hand front pillar that holds a couple of spray cans of cleaning product, a small torch, a tin of wd40 and some rags, net below passenger seat has hi-viz vest a pair of gloves and the scales for drill calibration, cup holder on right hand side has been modified with some pto tubing and gaffer tape to hold drinks can or thermo mug, take the pto tube out and a 2L bottle will fit, bait bag sits nicely on floor if I have 1 with me, what more room do you need 🤷🏻‍♂️

Ha Ha Ha,Do people with JD`s close their eyes when they walk around the front of the green machines??? Crikey, they are still pig ugly.
Won't matter when you drive it, unless you have a mirror at the end of the bonnet. And why do looks matter, really ugly tractors are quite rare nowadays.

There is still fudge all space in an R series cab. Please would the JD brigade tell me where they put their lunchbox/bag? There is fudge all space on the 'floor' to the left or right of the seat and zero space behind it. That leaves either side of the pedals against the windscreen which is clearly less than ideal. So you're stuck basically perching it on the passenger seat (which actually looks like a passenger seat these days mind, so an improvement of sorts).

I agree the JD controls (at least the autopowr/command arm thing) is spot on and the suspension combination is pretty spot on but I'm still gonna have to have to hand operator comfort and best cab in class award to Valtra I'm afraid. Haven't driven a Case CVX for so long can't remember the cab layout, recent New Hollands were ok, airy and bright with some space around the seat but I'm not having to push the seat back miles, I tend to sit forward a fair way and over the pedals for some reason.
