a little Dab pump with pressure switch, 3-4 metres of hose with a non return strainer foot and a funny filter thingy. Never worked out how it works, but it does and needs cleaning occasionally.

If you have 240 volt what about pumping to a header tank or the highest tank and then letting gravity do the rest?

Only one thing to go wrong then.

I am planning the solar pump to a header tank but I only need a couple of metres of head and 50 m o horizontal, but no 240 v.

Collected my pump and pressure vessel from Trevor yesterday - what a lovely chap. Thank you very much for the recommendation.

Laying 1,500m of 32mm today and tomorrow to get water to all the fields. V exciting!

A perfect example of how the forum should work...

One simple question, a few constructive comments (no nonsense - well almost and no barracking) and a great outcome for the OP,

Plus a reference of a useful contact for others to use in the future.

Good luck with your project Tom and don`t forget the back up plan for when the river dries up!
