Pumping water to a dwelling house

Does anyone do this? We have a site for a new house, located near the spring that supplies our yard, however there won't be enough height to supply the possible new house via gravity. Is there such a thing as a small reliable pump that could pump the water up to the roof space if a water tank was installed in the ground beside the house? Or even a pump be used for a pressurised system? We asked our plumber but he hadn't done anything that wasn't connected to the mains in a very long time....

At work
spring fed water supp;y, got two concrete rings in the ground and lid to keep the crap out to act as a sump to sit the pump in
then pump with a flow switch ,.......when the tap gets turned on the pump starts
there is a few other bits as well

There are plenty of small pump systems with pressure vessels. Always make sure your pressure vessel is plenty big enough, this will help to keep pump starts to minimum . You should consider filtration and purification systems as well. It may be expensive to start but will vvery quickly pay for itself with no water bills

I just use a centrifugal pump that can raise water 10 mtrs direct into a header tank with a ballcock. Could put a float switch on but never bothered. Just as easy to flick the switch when I make a brew which keeps the tank topped up.

Yes but would need a reservoir or header tank of some sort. A pump can’t create extra flow from nothing. Also remember that pressure and flow are two completely different things.
Yes I agree, but in a pump set that's what the pressure vessel is doing acting as a small buffer tank
