Would like to create a fake stream at the house with a wee straight drop water fall, problem is theres no natural stream, there is 1 at a guess 2-300 feet away at another guess mabe 15 foot lower than where i want it. So is there any way of pumping a decent amount of water mabe a 4 or 6 inch pipes worth up hill that doesnt require a water pump driven by motor or engine? Mabe pie in the skie but thought id ask anyway

look up ram pumps and put in stream.. then lay 300m of pipe to the start of your new river where you will dig a holding pond.. be careful to ask permission from everyone in Gov as you might get locked up and fined by them! enjoy

I remember when I spent my school hols with my sister on the estate in Wales, they had a Vulcan Ram that I believe had been installed in 1810 or thereabouts and it had been in continual use ever since, feeding the covered reservoir for the estate houses and mansion. We had to go and unlock the ram shed for the service man who turned up every now and again to give it a once-over and service the seals. I've always remembered it and the satisfying noise it made :)

Can't see anything pumping a 4 or 6 inch pipe up hill, wonder how many solar panels it would take to run a small electric water pump & then put several small dams in your garden stream to retain the illusion of a lot of water flowing through.

Ram pumps only pump a very small amount of the water that goes through them. I would suggest a ram pump to fill a small reservoir of some sort which could be turned on or off depending on how 'zen' you wish to be at the time.
A ram pump can pump up to 50 percent of the water going through it, just not very high, or very little to a massive height.
