hi , have had plans drawn up up for a shed , the purlins for the side sheets have shown on the plans fixed the outside of the leg rather than inside the webbing of the h beam , I also saw a mock shed at turriff show which also had the purlin fitted on the outside of the legs , what is the pros and cons with this purlin placement .

In livestock buildings, if you have poured walls having the purlins on the outside gives a nice air gap for ventilation in a livestock shed, don't need that if you are using panels on the inside of the leg as the gap is there.
