Exactly why we offer the option to turn on / off. User preference - some like them and others hate them

I really fail to see the point of this. It seems like a light-version of auto refresh. Something that was really usefull and one of the best features of tff.

Because lots of members asked for it. Its a lot more advanced than the old system, that kept a script running permanently in the background eating resource especially on low band width connections. It also caused numerous errors as well.

We are just testing a version of an auto alert, but since the old one couldn't be updated it has to be tested from scratch.

Ironically - you have to have cookies enabled for it not to ask you again. So some browsers block this feature we have noted.

Me too , apart from "the box" . where is this box of which you speak ? And can the lack of cookie allowing be by-passed . ?

When I get two notifications I can only see the round profile of the first person on the list, it won't let me go down to see the other ones below
