Got a fm750 on my drilling tractor that im planning on moving on to the combine. I'll need a platform kit and loom but is it worth the hassle?
Only you know the answer to that!

I transferred our autosteer kit to the combine few years back, but felt I could drive better than it as the hillsider element would make it throw a wobbly.

If it was level land would definitely have it in.

I move my CFX 750 and EZ steer onto the combine every year. Feel far better after a long day now just concentrating on the crop feed and not having to steer. Definitely worth doing.

Putting your EZ-Pilot on the combine has more pro's than cons .... why run with a half full header? Have a look at the following link for a rapid transfer kit .... extra expense I know but cuts down the time required to transfer kit between units and could perhaps allow the steering to be used on more vehicles? You would need to speak to your local authorised Trimble dealer for prices.

I find the motor the easy bit to swap over. It's the wiring looms, aerial, burying it tidily etc that takes the time.

There are transfer kits available from Trimble and one is for EZ-Pilot ..... if all the required cables are tucked away out of harms way, its then a simple case of only having to move hardware parts. The option is available to spend as much or as little as you want .... but surely to have the ability to move a guidance system between multiple vehicles is money well spent?

I don't bother hiding the looms. They just lay in the footwell type position on the rhs of the steering column. Because mine aren't all hidden it only takes minutes to move it all.

Just pricing up Trimble and Starfire ,,,,,,, both very similar in money ,,,,, looking to have set up in tractor but moveable to combine , Trimble do short term hire for certain bits and pieces which might be usefull whilst I get up and running ,,,,,
