Wondering what type of helmets everyone uses for the Quad Bikes (Thats if there used at all )

We have used these helmets for as long as i can remeber and the other day during a health and safety Inspection we were told these do not qualify or wouldnt provide much protection during an accident!!!

Cant seem to find any decent ones online for reasonable price now tho..

Cheers

Isn't that a Terrain helmet? Got two here because that's exactly what was recommended by the ATV bloke at a HSE awareness day a couple of years ago.

I would think that most 'safe' helmets would be totally impractical for use while actually working on a quad on a livestock farm. Whilst the one above might not be up to the HSE's standards, I'd guess it would provide more protection than the ones that most of us wear every day. Suggesting all users should be wearing full crash helmets would be so impractical it would be stupidity.

Fully expected to get lambasted for being so reckless now btw.

We have an open face motorcycle helmet. It stays on the quad when we have students about but no one ever wears it. Nothing worse than wearing a helmet in the rain. The water runs down your neck.

Opposite here. If it's raining when I leave the house I'll grab the helmet. The visors a god send. Cost about £30 of eBay.
I always wear sunglasses/safety glasses. those flys can hurt!

Yes it is SheepDip!!

The problem is more the age of it they said etc...

As has been stated wearing a helmet while trying to gather livestock is one of the most frustrating things I find

Hse come in here with her high heels which was not very appropriate safety well on farm 3 of us shearing sheep all electric shear was not interested in that just wanted to see quad bikes. Then we all had to do training courses the boy that come out to do it could not even start the quad let a loan drive it. Any idiot can do a course put a helmet on and pass it and still end up in hospital the next day with serious injuries but it's ok he did a course.

It common sense that keeps people safe at the end of the day.
