There's mitts there for it, just haven't fitted them yet (til I learn the layout of controls). Prefer mitts to the guards as they keep the rain off too
We have a lot of part time drivers over lambing so can’t use the mitts for that reason. Plus the newer Honda is a nightmare to put in reverse with no mitts so that’s a no go.

Something like this would be good. Windchill is horrendous at times and keeping hands dry on the backs would stop them cracking so much!

Literally just gone through it here, so here's my opinion for all its worth...

The Honda 500 is gone. 520 has major upgrades for very little more £££ over the 500. I didn't/don't like the 500irs. Called into Lloyds to see the 520, they were sold out already at Dumfries and didn't know when another was coming in - but there were 6 in stock at Kelso... so I've not seen one in the flesh. Couldn't be bothered to wait.
520irs manual has power steering as standard and I was quoted £7,300

I don't like the CanAm. I've sat on a 450 and 570 and just wasn't... they do nothing for me. Didn't even bother with prices.

Yamaha 450 is a bloody nice bike, very well built and solid but feels very small. Best mate has an old model 450 (same engine) and old model Honda420 and says the Yamaha is too thirsty (he is a Yamaha man, and has owned countless models). Poorest ground clearance of all the bikes I looked at, and physical dimensions it was also the smallest/most compact. That may have made it a good bike - but I'm 6'1" and I felt hunched on it and like there was nothing around me.
450eps power steering (winch as standard) with mudguard extensions, receiver and ball hitch £6,850

Suzuki 500 is bloody lovely. Such a comfy bike to ride and drives really nice... within 20 seconds of just sitting on it I was sold.
500 with power steering (mud guard extensions standard), receiver, hitch, EASI registered £7,400
500 basic (as above but without power steering) £6,580. I can't understand how power steering (it is the only difference) adds £800...

No brainer for me, basic Suzuki 500 is being delivered next week.

Where was Suzuki from? that’s a lump less than I’ve been quoted by local man to replace one that got nicked last week.

No Bike bought a Honda Hrv 4WD Drive car for 450 quid put on limited miles on road and costs 60 quid to insure. Go anywhere . We do not have hill land tho but does all the rough work on 300 acres. When i see those cabbed bikes in shows for 12/13 grand the HRV with atow bar is a much more practical and cost efficient alternative

Any idea if the new Yamaha Kodak 450EPS also has diff lock? I can’t see the need but know someone who was waiting for a 2020 model to come into the country as it had more features than the 2018 one?

I think the current 450 can be spec'd with or without front diff lock, but I'm not sure.
If the yam 450 had it as standard instead of the winch, I could well have bought it over the Suzuki... but between a winch and diff lock (diesel bike has both) - I'd take diff lock every time!

Honestly, if you get used to a bike having it you won't want to go back to one without it. You don't use it often, but there's always a greasy hill or boggy ditch needing climbed/crossed which the bike struggles - diff lock in and away you go

Of course, the Can-Am you didn’t like, has an auto locking front diff as standard. Just saying......
