We dont have a working pull start but this afternoon I disconected one lead from the battery at the solenoid so I could charge battery. ( Have to do this as trying to charge it without doing so results in too much current being drawn via charger, presumably because the starter is drawing it)
I also pulled out the little plug with three wires in which sits between the battery cables at the solenoid.
Gave it a decent charge and without putting little plug back went to attach the lead from the battery I had disconnected which resulted in much sparking and the starter spinning which I dont understand as apart from the leads from the battery there was nothing else connected.
