Quad Bike Running Costs

The man that repairs my bikes said that there was no new Honda bikes available in this country for a month or more and second hand stuff was going up as a consequence. Some parts bad to come by now too

Aye. Honda and Yamaha are down to their last handful bikes. Both won't be getting any new ones into the country until about March - this came from a dealership. They are robbing bits off (new) in stock bikes for warranty parts, too, as it's quicker than waiting for parts to come from USA.

I bought a new Suzuki in September. They were cagey asking what spec I wanted until I said basic 500 in green. Luckily that was no problem tho... because it turns out was all they had :ROFLMAO:

Yes it sounds like the corona stoppages of production and transportation have caught up with any surplus

+1 I’m on my 4th CanAm and none have had a problem with electrics in rain. If they had, I wouldn’t look at another, considering they have to work outside all winter here!

I have a 650 Pro now and have been surprised at the fuel consumption. It doesn’t seem any worse than any of the previous models, but obviously uses a bit when you actually use the power anywhere near fully. Pootling most of the time of course, as that’s all it needs to do unless you really load it up. Mine also appears to be stuck in ‘sport’ mode for some reason, as the last one was.😍🤐

Previous one was a 570 Pro, which may have been built on a Friday afternoon. It was changed before the warranty ran out, for a replacement with a 5yr warranty (& no plans to change before then). Both CanAm’s previous to that had nothing spent on them other than tyres & servicing.

How often do those doing daily work etc service their bikes? We’ve always done once a year a few weeks pre lambing then if there is a problem with a bike it will usually get one while it’s there

We have our 420 Honda serviced by main dealer twice a year, mostly about£60 a service
We probably don't do as many miles as most, ours will be 3 yrs old in March and has done about 6,200 miles

Mines £50 to get it picked up then servicing ontop, usually £250-300, doing a lot more than 7,000 mile a year

Strictly speaking, it should be serviced every time it tells you it needs it.

I feel once a year is enough, but ignoring the service light for several thousand miles then expecting warranty work carried out if something fails is taking the pee IMO

Pm me if you like but hope you don’t mind me asking... what is a brand spanner with 5 year warranty ? Once my trusty Honda dies I’m considering going brand new and big warranty so no repair bills or trawling eBay for breakers for parts [emoji28]
