Do they really do those “ham” keys? I thought that was just a joke when I heard about them
They do. The keys can be programmed either way, and are locked to the bike (a good anti-theft device in itself). One of mine was mistakenly set as a ‘work’ key when I got the 570. I thought there was something wrong with the bike as it was so sluggish. My faith was soon restored when I put the other key on the stub.
It’s actually a very clever safety feature, if you have younger (& older?) riders using it too. It limits the acceleration and the top speed, but obviously still fast enough to do some damage if not careful.
I’m told work and ordinary mode, which can be selected on the handlebars, mean you use less fuel than if it’s always in ‘sport’ mode. I’ve not found out yet though.
