Quad bikes Burning oil

Every bike we have ever had on our dairy farm has eventually ended up leaving burning oil. Hondas last the longest usually but its not all down to the make. The journeys we do rarely last more than 2 minutes. Any suggestions? could we use different oil? Should I just accept we should change the bike every 2 years before it goes wrong?

I dont like to think im flogging it from cold but its not always me driving and it is very hilly round here.
I dont think there's that much we can do about it relay.

Bit more research and it seems to be 100 hours or 600 miles. However, my mechanic told me that the computer is smart enough to know how hard the bike has worked and will put up the oil change warning on the screen sooner if it has been thrashed. He told me to follow the warning rather than the hours or miles measurement.

Really?

That's a smart computer.

Ours get serviced or changed before lambing and the oil change light is on within 2 weeks, their next service is 11months later. Probably a bit hard for doing 10,000km a year each! Never had an engine problem with the 14-15 hondas we’ve had over 20 years, only the first was manual, all the rest since have been ES 350/420’s apart from a foreman 500 AT/ES

I bet the two min journey is fire it up. Rev it a bit. Roar down track or lane. Pull up and stop!

Nothing worse for an engine. Need to let it warm up use it and let it tick over before shutting off.

Bit of 2 stroke oil in fuel would help. Although lack of oil changes seems the ops main issue to deal with first.
