Is it me or is this out of order?
Ordered exhaust silencer for quad
front pipe arrived, rang and explained that i ordered silencer,no apologies even though i'd waited 2 weeks for it,just said a new silencer is over £600 so I obviously said I wont bother, they said i could return the wrong exhaust for a refund.
Just got the refund and it's £5 short ?
Rang them and they said they don't refund postage costs???
I know it's only £5 but they made the mistake,no fault of mine :mad:
If I ran my business like that I'd lose customers hand over fist.
sorry,rant over

If It's my mistake I'll cover the shipping cost to return..

I can see from certain manufacturers build data whats fitted so if the customer orders the wrong one it's down to them.

I know of people charging 15% restock fee... I dont do that as it'll go back out anyway.

Had that with a Honda agent. So I phoned Honda and asked them to confirm that they charge a 20% handling fee. They don't. Just hope they gave the dealer a bollocking. One thing I can't stand is being lied to. In the OP's case, i's one fpr Trading Standards/Consumer Protection. At least it will go on the record.

Ordered as a silencer 1st fault...Misleading... then a 2nd wait for the right part.

Charging Fiver for their misleading description 2nd fault.

Using Mine or My in posts on a forum when it's daddy's... Priceless.

I bought a second hand quad off them this week. Didn’t go and see it bought it off the photos they sent me and a conversation with the sales man. Turned up exactly when they said it would and exactly how it was described. Personally can’t fault the service from them.

Had a set of tyres delivered off them a couple of weeks ago. Ordered online, and delivered as promised.
BKT tyres as well and everyone else is about sold out of them.
Can't fault the company any dealings I have had with them.

Are they not a memeber on here ?

I've brought things from them in the past and have been happy with the service.

Why wreck someones reputation because of maybe an administration error of £5

The reason I suggest Trading Standards is these people have the experience to know who is being reasonable and what the law is. They have no axe to grind, are not involved, and should give impartial advice. Can't say I've ever had a problem with them.

It’s not the amount of money,it’s the principle,I rang and gave frame number to parts girl and ordered the rear exhaust silencer and she quoted me a price,I agreed and ordered it,they ordered/priced the wrong part but still charging me for postage for something I didn’t order or want.

I’m not wrecking anything. it’s not the money,it’s the principal, their fault but I have to pay.and when I rang to enquire why the refund was short I just got told we don’t refund postage,no apologies just we don’t refund postage

My experience of them in buying a bike boom sprayer off them a couple of years ago is that they are not crooks and genuine and legit......BUT are bloody badly organised and I found them plain ”hard work” if you have to go back and forth a bit to get an order right.
Think we all know with this particular case it’s not the £5 that’s the issue, but the principal of it all. Their mistake, put it right fast and keep the customer informed at all times of any supply issues etc. A business's primary mission if it wants to stay in the game, is to have a customer return to them, not send them to a competitor due to their actions.

It is what it is. Whatever you do, don't think about the other £5 that you spent to post the item back to them.

This sort of carry on seems to be quite common now, the latest rort I've noticed is having to pay postage to return a faulty item and then having to pay postage to get the replacement/repaired item back. Running a credit/charge account with the company is excellent in such situations.

Because they fucckked up and won't own their mistake.

This thread isn't going to do anything to their reputation, it'll be forgotten about by lunch time tomorrow.
