quadtrac tracks

Can anyone help, I need a couple of quadtrack tracks here in Devon to cut and fit to my steam engine back wheels. It will stop me leaving rumble strips in the tarmac..... I think they are made in different widths can anyone advise me on that? I will need to cut off the drive lugs and split the track down the middle to fit the width of the straked wheels, so ones with decent tread and damaged lugs are perfect.

Tracks can be 30 or 36 inches wide, the 30 inch tracks are the most common though. Might be worth trying your local case dealer? If they don't have any they might know of a customer who has replaced tracks?

Thanks @Curt for the width info. I don't think our local agent would have any on his books in this area, but as you say he might be able to tell me of a likely area to start looking.
Hopefully someone will see this thread and get in touch.

quads have the two rows of diagonal tread bars in a V shape. When you cut them in half down the centre you end up with two strips that have the tread bars in the same pattern as the diagonal steel strakes on a traction engine wheel. They look similar plus give grip in the mud. Are there any others with that pattern?

I used to have some and they went for the same job, most case dealers will have heap of them in the nettles, a tip for you... the earlier quadtrac has a smaller circumference than the later ones, have measure before you get one as the short ones can be 12" short for going round the wheels.

That is good to know thanks, the wheels are 6ft diameter so I will check to make sure when I find some.
