During the event held on the 13th and 14th September 2019, international visitors, from as far afield as Japan, were taken on an itinerary through Norfolk and Suffolk taking in an outdoor pig unit, specialist straw based finisher unit with lunch at the Larling Angel followed by a tour of the English Whiskey Company in East Harling.

The celebrations culminated in an evening drinks reception and hog roast at the Company’s recently completed new office and distribution building. They were joined by over a 100 UK farmers (many who were instrumental in the early adoption and trialling of the Transition Feeder), staff and guests including from the European research and academic sector.

About Quality Equipment

GE Baker UK Limited trading as Quality Equipment is a second generation family Company based in Woolpit, Suffolk specialising in designing and manufacturing equipment and providing new build and other construction services to the pig, livestock and education sectors.

Founded in 1965 Quality Equipment has worked alongside it’s customers to understand their requirements, providing dependable and cost effective solutions.

In the past 12 months the Company led by Managing Director Jamie Baker has made considerable investments for the future including a new office and warehouse building, sign off on the next generation of Baby Feeders and new bespoke computer systems to streamline production and sales processes.

About the Transition Feeder

The Transition Feeder by G E Baker Is designed to ensure a smooth transition for piglets weaning from the sow’s milk to post weaning diets by emulating the periodic feeding of the sow with small quantities of wet feed mixed on demand.

Just celebrating 20 years in various models, the Transition Feeder has been a UK export success story with over 11,000 units sold to customers in over 30 countries as far afield as Australia and Japan.

About the Baby Feeder

Following extensive development and trials over the past 4 years, the Baby Feeder was recently launched by Quality Equipment.

The Baby Feeder is an in-farrow piglet feeder designed to augment the feed availability to piglets whilst still with the sow and improve intake and transition to post weaning diets. The Baby Feeder can be used with a range of diets to avoid any check in growth and development at weaning and thus improving feed conversion ratio and finishing time.
