Quantitative easing (Bank of England version, oops...)

There is a simple solution to all this debt!!

Surely the debt of most nations is not to any current nation or body but has been pushed forward to future generations by the use of derivatives.
This is a four syllable word which nobody understands but i gather that ten times the amount of actual money currently existing in the World is promised in the form of these derivatives.

On which of the days of creation did God make money?

fellas fellas...if there is more people in the world and everyone works hard to make more money, then there needs to be more money - hence more debt....And hence why its not gold backed because there's not enough gold...

Its just a ploy to keep taxing you...so all the money doesn't run out of the country...they baffle you with b*llsh*t...hedge this...equities that....blah blah blah.

Clearly they are engineering this on the run...hence its so messy....

Don'tr worry about it...people get wound up saying world will end..that's what the government wants...

If all the money in the world from every currency was burnt tomorrow in one big pile...what would change...NOTHING.

The cows will still need to be milked...the wheat will still grow...everything can happen without money...i could own an oil refinery and pump out fuel all day long...with no money...because if there is no money there is no cost...no profit but the fuel will still be made.

Relax and enjoy your lives...don't worry about the sterling...money was here before you were born and will be here when you gone....

Think you oughta go easy on the tinnies mate!

We will see how far wrong i am...you dont think the controllers of the system will let themselves go bankrupt do you?...

They can turn around and back currency with block chain if they wanted to....

There system is working...a smaller percentage of people are holding a larger percentage of the wealth...

Check warren buffet view on debt..hes not the slightest bit worried...its never going to get paid back from actual market funds....

He wasn't that financial genius that had got rid of boom and bust was it?,I bet walterp will turn that round to being the torys fault or the English or both
That is a myopic view: the reality is that the Conservatives largely supported Gordon Brown's economic management, and few can forget David Cameron's claim that the difference between his economic policies and those of Mr Brown came down to the mere question of 'how to share the proceeds of growth.'

Anyone doubting the economic incompetence of the Tory party would do well to study the period when Tony Barber was Chancellor of the Exchequer. There were rapid rises in asset prices, fuelled by the relaxing of credit, that (although uncredited) largely caused the UK's subsequent economic travails.

The really interesting things is that these problems were UK-specific, so that it is fairly easy to attribute blame where it belongs. I suppose that, had the Tories been in power 1997- 2010 the policies (and the outcomes) would have been much the same.

[Going further, the principal problem the Conservatives now have is that the symptoms of economic failure that we see all around us are (and will be) attributed to Conservative beliefs. They will carry the can for how our economy looks, which is probably just (but not entirely merited).]

I must of been dreaming through out the labour years, they inherited one of the best economies in the g8 and systematically fuc#ed it up but its not their fault it's the nasty torys fault.Your arguments get more bizarre with each answer you give

I have merely pointed out the facts: abuse doesn't alter them.

I suspect that you are beyond reason or logic.

Your post has no facts in it only your warped view of the world!.So how about answer the question ,did labour inherit a booming economy in 97 then systematically wreak it?

I agree. My conclusion is that it was a cynical power grab by labour.
They inherited an economy in prime form and followed conservative policy for a decade when there was probably never a better time in modern history to have followed more traditionally labour policies.
I'm not sure you can blame the opposition for that.
