Query about shooting permissions

Hi all, not sure if this is ok to discuss here and not wanting to irritate anyone but...

I'm a mature countryside student at uni and want to work as a wildlife manager after graduation, a necessary (and for me very enjoyable) part of this is pest control and also deer management. with this in mind I am beginning the process of looking around for permission, ideally for deer stalking but also for rabbit, corvid or fox control as well in order to build on my experience.

So firstly, how would any of you feel if i were to approach you regarding these requests? I have been shooting and doing pest control on my own ground for several years but this would be my first "permission". Would you be looking for a financial incentive or would the odd deer/ haul of rabbits be preferable, or both?

Secondly and with all that said, are there any land owners in the worcestershire area who have either a problem with pests or would be willing to allow me permission to shoot on their land? I am fully insured through BASC and also hold my deer stalking certificate lvl 1.

Thanks in advance for any advice you guys can give.

I don't take it personally at all, i completely understand to be honest, unfortunately I don't know anyone with land like that, and proving competence and trustworthiness is a difficult thing to do when starting out. Thanks for reading though!

Ah right I know the area fairly well, grew up not far from Tenbury. Could ask a few friends from the area if they know of anything, plenty of pigeon and rabbit shooting around and a few foxes but not so much deer.

That would be fantastic if you could! I know deer are a bit like hens teeth, but even rabbits would be a great first step on the ladder. I've pmed you my contact details in case anyone wants to get in touch. Thanks!

Everyone I have shooting here has come trough the beating team on the shoot that uses my farm. It’s would be a good way for you to get to know the shooters in your area and is very social too.
