Questions, questions and....

...yes, you guessed it, questions. This info is probably on loads of different threads and in very vague bits and pieces, I'm not being lazy, just trying to pull it all together ;)

I'm trying to do a bunch of calculations and it would help if people could answer the following based on suckler cows:

- How much does a cow cost you per year to keep?
- What do you pay for grazing acre/year?
- How much hay/silage/concentrates etc. do you allow for per animal per year ?
- What percentage losses do you allow for (livestock, not financial!) a year?
- How much do you allow/does medication and vet bills cost you per animal/per year?

I know that this will vary massively from individual to individual, because the way that each person keeps their cows is different, but just trying to keep things simple and would really appreciate it if you answer even just one of the questions very simply.

Thanks in advance lads and lasses and enjoy your evening (y):)

I think you may find those last two may be inversely linked! I may have a very vested interest in this, but working with your vet should make you money, not cost you money.

Have a look at Stocktake Lite

And the stocktake report:

Thanks for that. If anyone else knows of anything useful, would be good if they could pop a link up, even if it is too another threa on here. Just trying to tie all the answers to questions together in one thread and could be useful to others in the future.

But they have to find this thread. As said, most of this has been covered in great depth already - if you use the search function for key phrases you will find them. Your thread title is not a helpful one for coming up in searches on title only though!
