I bought 27mm mild steel round bar, it'll be slopping about like anything :banghead:

whoops, wrong thread, although not completely inappropriate.
This cost me £11, to buy another is another £11, then to pay someone to turn down 700mm total length = ???

2x brand new proper pins from IW would be ~£58

The ifor pins on mine were just thin walled tube, I made some new ones from some slightly thicker walled tube.

25mm water pipe and a slit down one side?
Other option is some steam pipe and slit it to fit and spot weld at the end to keep it there. A washer welded on the end of the inner peg keeps it looking pretty and stops anything moving.
Grease nipple woild be a Rolls Royce job.

tbh, its only 1.25mm your short and if its mild steel round bar it ill probably swell with rust to be a tight fit in no time, depending on how much you use it i suppose.
when you hammer it into the box it could get a tad smaller...
