I could do but thought a ratchet would be more gentle.

I split the socket with a length of scaffold pipe I think on plough bolts.

Impressive welding to a Jubilee clip - I'd have had to bodge on an exhaust clamp after burning through the JC

Not my own bodge, just bought a straw chopper with a bust gearbox, the only thing not bust on our is the gearbox .

The centre bolt is m10, the outer bolt is shearbolt should be m8 still a mystery why the gearbox failed.

That's taken some tech engineering, is using a drill allowed here?

Hole has maybe elongated over the years if new shear bolts not been tightened properly

when I was a student, the tegal used to eat shear bolts for a hobby, until I welded the back up on the sprocket when the boss was on holiday. this cured the problem

It is a teagle, don't think any tech was required, just bash the shearbolt bushes out with a lump hammer and replace with a massive bolt !

I'm going to be drummed off the bodges thread for this but some bushes and bolts are going back in there.
