Not sure if this post belongs here but thought it might bring a smile. The boy (8 yrs old) Wanted his own tractor and trailer. His grandad set to work and made him this. Someone gave us the ride on and the trailer is made from all bits lying around the place. He loves it View attachment 790600
Bit of flexy pipe from the grass chute thorough a hole in the bin (trailer) lid and hey presto silage trailer

It's just the claw bit off am 8 inch puller I couldn't get a decent picture of the bodge without doing it close up.
But it does have a LOT of weld on it so thought it would fit this thread
:D it dose, but ive seen worse bodges..
to have a stab at your question, i doubt it, it will for a while as you'l go easy on it but that day you forget the past and give it one more turn ill be deja vu.
altho to me (it could be the pic) it looks like it ill slip off before it dose that..
nothing like trying tho.
ps, a 29-9 rod might have a bit more hope of holding it.

It doesn't get used a lot once a year maybe. It's always been a sh!t at slipping off my grandfather bought it in a car boot sale probably 30 years ago so it had done some work before we got it and is probably worn. I don't expect it to do much but it will do until I see a suitable replacement at livestock farmer/bodger price
@hendrebc Did you quench it in oil after welding ?
No but I did think after that I should have done something but wasn't sure what. Would that have made it harder?

That's dangerous talk right there :nailbiting:
He doesn't mean it. Well he might mean it now but in a few years all that chain will have been used for other things and he will be back to thing gates up with string again. Dad was saying this not that long ago about the old cow chains that were in the old stalls where cows were tied up in winter. He said exactly what @Nearly just said I'll never have to tie up a gate with string now I've got this big pile of chains.... Guess what holds most of our gates closed now :ROFLMAO::whistle:

Lifespan of them wheels is about 1000 acres on a 4f, did that with ours to try then did the other side & got another 1000 odd acres out of it, different plough now & on rubber.
1000acres is probably about right for what this ones done. The more weight I add to the wheel the sooner the arm will break off it's shaft again.
