In fairness, when you look at the detail it is questionable how useful it would be for its original purpose......

Ordered a water mister, which came with a pump and nozzles, 6m pipe and pick up for 29 euros Aliexpress. Came yesterday so set about wiring it up using an old electric fencer case and two IR sensors to trigger it on, old battery I found kicking around and simple relay. Idea is to give the cows some fly relief with citronela, garlic extract and lavanda oil mixed in the water. Pleased with the size of the plume, I want to hang it in our tunnel when the cows head back under the road daily to force them through it, but at the moment there kicked out in the woods so short of there curiosity hoping salt lick will lure them in!

I didn’t have a spare ballcock so needed to blank the end for the night. No blanks either. A cutting of pipe and a new cable tie!

And a new push fit union!

If this happens again, and you can access the valve, screw the end cap off, insert a small stone and screw the cap back on. This should hold the plunger against the cone in the same way the ball arm does. Have done it myself plenty of times.

That’s a much tidier bodge, I love it!
