It probably shouldn't be. I wasn't using it as a spirit level, it was the only straight edge I could findBut should that yellow instrument on the floor be in this thread?
It's well used and abused! Persons who shall remain nameless have been known to use it to tamp concrete in around gate posts...In fairness, when you look at the detail it is questionable how useful it would be for its original purpose......

Is that an ultrasonic mister?
Good idea btw
If this happens again, and you can access the valve, screw the end cap off, insert a small stone and screw the cap back on. This should hold the plunger against the cone in the same way the ball arm does. Have done it myself plenty of times.Found this last night.

I didn’t have a spare ballcock so needed to blank the end for the night. No blanks either. A cutting of pipe and a new cable tie!

And a new push fit union!

That’s a much tidier bodge, I love it!If this happens again, and you can access the valve, screw the end cap off, insert a small stone and screw the cap back on. This should hold the plunger against the cone in the same way the ball arm does. Have done it myself plenty of times.
Pic doesn’t show it but it’s the arm that broken off, not the ball.I use empty bottles as floaters if needs must. Or tie the arm up...
