Good 5pm Friday phone call:

'You know that failed rape that you asked me to disc up? Well I've broken down in full view of the main road and the village'.

Suspected fuel issue but couldn't solve before kids bath time came a calling, so dragged it, discs in ground, up the hill and out of the way. Pulled it no bother, so thought about finishing the field like that...

We get loads of packing crates from new machines and I’ve found that using a crowbar is splitting good wood and slow, so 5 mins in the shed.... may be overbuilt but it works! View attachment 864988
Pulled 150m of post and rail apart yesterday with my copy.
40mm box and 2.4m handle.
It even pulls sideways to remove reluctant ends of rails.

Brilliant.

I took some young stock to a bit of away ground and having cleared the trough out found that because the service box lid is missing and the little plastic gadget (I now have a pack of 9, thanks to TFF, but not in the truck) is bust meaning the usual fountain was entirely missing the trough. Found someones sani box and by good fortune (laziness) the battery drill was in the truck.IMG_4385.jpg

Built a hay feeder for lambs yesterday. Don’t mind the new lumber. Was going to use 2x4 lumber for a neck bar but ran out. So on with the creation. I started looking around for something suitable and found the right thing in plain sight, with our excavation business we replace hydrants (6’ bury frost-free) and end up with the old ones so I have a pile. I took the ends off and get a nice pipe and rod. Used the riser tube for the bar and two pieces of scrap tube and two sickle sections for the mounts. Also used used screws I found in my grandpas shop.
