I must admit, I did cut to length with a disc, sorry if I implied that I was a skilled engineer ☹
say nothing about the 4 jaw and the dial gauge or theyl be out with the rope hi.;)

you did good in a fix ill give you that, if you haven't replaced it with a oem one id turn a bit of that xtra weight off the bottom of it, be surprised how much it would throw the disc out of balance.

Surely if he takes too much off it won’t be able to go back into use holding the tractor wheel on again?

Not sure if this belongs here as gas struts were used, and new ones at that. Also, some paint came out to finish the job but I believe the above to be negated by the fact I welded several 8mm nuts together to create a threaded bush, and all steel was out of the scrap bin...

Nevertheless, my beloved TX66 has to endure many a road mile over the course of harvest, and whilst I don’t mind navigating the wide old girl through the lanes and so on, I do have a particular dislike of the disappearing act game my wing mirrors play when they invariably make contact with a low hanging branch or bush. I’m sure there could have been more of a ‘bodge’ solution, but I hope it has more chance of longevity that a bicycle Inner tube wrapped around the arm as suggested by a friend! I didn’t want to drill the mirror arm and handrail as there are lots of wires running through them, which I believe adds to the ‘bodge’ element of this thread as homemade
clamps had to be used instead! It works wonderfully, I’m quite pleased with the result.

quite proud of this one, stupid mineral container with the rubbish straps were digging into my shoulders, asked the wife if we had an old back pack, found kids old minecraft bag small slit in bottom for hose and some ties off bottom of mineral container to straps of bag to take weight and away i went,

i might add not my usual attire for on the farm just had pet lambs left to do this evening

i have to say it worked perfectly (today with rest of flock) much more comfortable will be a keeper!

Pet hate of mine getting mirrors knocked in, takes ages to get them set just right again.

Fella we used to work for was the worst, & he had his own hedgecutter....

Is that branch load tested?

Baler tow or twine,,,,,,,

The straps rated for 10t I think. The swing 100kg. Tow is what we call it down here! Don't think I'd trust tow/band. There getting pretty wild on it. Would be worried it would wear through, going back and forward on branch. They can twist the strap up and it goes round and round for ages after.

The branch is the weakest link. Could do with moving it back to where its thicker.
