proper botchers tool is the arc welder ...... so easy to use for simple (maybe bit rough :sneaky:) cutting thin metal jobs.
cheap 2mm rods and 150 amps or so and blast chunk out of...

ex peugeot car wheels plenty around for next to nothing compared to flotation wheels , or spare wheel ready to go if there's a puncture '
center hole in standard 4inch pcd hub is spot on for them but wheel nut holes are at 108mm pcd so wheel nut holes need altering a bit...less than perfect no so important left a bit rough means they dont come lose either but best to check every whip and while ;)
as you can see a little nick took out for the grease nipple as well..(y)

Has anybody tried this, I bought it through a link on FB. Foil backed with some thick sticky stuff. Sticks really well when out on a dry object. According to blurb it’s supposed to stick in the wet as well but I haven’t had any luck luck getting it to stick in the wet. I’ve been using it to repair cracks or holes in cement fibre sheets. Not sure how long it will last, but so far so good. View attachment 916620
I have used it for exactly the same purpose. It lasts ok, especially if you prepare the surface. I wire brushed where the cracks were, then painted it with some plastic based paint before sticking the tape down. It needs to be done in the dry really, I would suggest.
It has lasted a couple of years but is failing now. The foil backing peels in the sun then the bitumen type stuff goes hard and cracks.
Be safe on the roof

We've used flash band for years..... must have some leaks in sheet valleys that have been patched for 15 years and more. wire brush and cook the sheet just before it crackles, make sure the flash band is already warm, apply it and then cook the flash band so it adheres properly.

Our topper...
Only really use if for rough work and always left outside with the crap left on.
However, dad lost a complete knifeholder a while ago, which seriously knackers capacity. Checked the oil which revealed metal fillings galore.
Found an identical one so off to buy that. This one should serve well for spares.
