I’ll put this in as a quick fix . Silage wrap got flooded and paper core are now swollen and won’t fit the stretch unit :

New to me (given for free as it wouldn’t run) lawnmower was hunting and running rough then fuel was leaking out of carburettor. Stripped it down for a look and clean up. Float valve looked a bit odd and not quite complete. Decided it should have something for the float to push against. Biro spring trimmed to size and hey presto….

What speed does the blade turn at? A wee gaurd maybe an idea to stone stones etc

It depends on your forward speed but I don't think it'll get above 1000 rpm.

It's close enough under the rear of the quad that it'll never be able to fling a stone at you, plus it's safe because when you stop it stops.

Strimmer head decided it no longer wanted to be attatched and flew in to pieces. But now i can strim and cut logs with my swiss army knife

Careful with that some people who did grass cutting had brush cutter blades like that in strimmers, hit a stone, blade shattered and too some of his fingers off

depend on your situation but I would be worried a lamb thinks the bike is mum or maybe some footpath Walker with loose dog. Perhaps a pin could drop in front of the blade stopping it instantly and the wheels would just lock up with no real weight on them

To be fair, it worked a treat . Loading another bale with the clamshell was touch and go , but it was going to be fed anyway

I managed to miss read that a couple of times and was seriously wondering if that is the "Improved silage squeeze" how you had been picking them up with a backactor before.

I have , in the past , done similar with an MF 50 .

I like the "Reducers " , pieces of channel , weld inside bucket lugs , to fit narrow arm of the Ford . What was the bucket originally to fit ? Maybe you haven't a clue .
