Does this qualify for a bodge?

It was much cheaper than a new guard after the mower had been pull pulled out from the nettles for topping

I hope you didn’t throw away a perfectly good handle 😢

I don't know if this counts for a proper bodge as its indoors, but our downstairs basin tap is all wrong for the job and anyone washes their hands in there tells me the basin has a leak, because they can't see that the water splashes down the back and runs along and onto the floor. Ive been looking for one of those waterfall taps for years but they are either too tall, too short and won't reach over or bath type flow. Mrs D decided to have a go at finding one and now we have enough tap brochures to keep the house warm during the next big freeze.

I was passing the scrapheap and saw a bit of tube glinting in the rust, and as luck would have it the perfect diameter for the job. In its previous life it was the handle off one of those cheese slicers that you pulled towards you to make a slice, but the business end had fallen off. Anyway, cut both ends off, found it was filled with plastic for some reason, knocked that out and put a flare on the one end to go in the fitting under the tap. This was quite tricky, but ended up using one of those conical cutters, but running backwards. Anyway, doesn't splash down the back now and Mrs D back on with proper tasks like the VAT and dosing lambs.

That is a tidy bodge but still a bodge (y)

The things you’ve gotta do now to tip at local grain store, new rules means you need a grain sock on all trailers, made the frame to match the grain hatch but bought the sock , hopefully the complete thing coming from Stewart for the other trailer when they’re back off holiday on Monday 🙄

I think that almost counts as engineering as it looks too good!

I think it was @Beef farmer that posted the link last year sometime

£16 odd plus vat, if I remember at the time it was free shipping over £100 so bought a load.
Only thing they come in and out of stock quite often, and I think they only have 1 in stock ATM as it won't allow more than one to be put in basket. But keep checking the website.
Their not Gallagher quality but for £16 you won't go wrong.
Their also on Amazon if your into that kind of thing
Did you ever manage to get a VAT invoice out of them? They are impossible to get in touch with via email or phone. @Beef farmer

Edit: disputed the payment via PayPal and requested a refund and lo and behold they've sent a VAT invoice through within 10 minutes.

That's an A1 bodge if you can get away with it in the house, under the rigorous QA regime that most women insist on(y)(y)(y)

To be truthfully I can't remember, but possibly yes I did.
I buy lots of stuff for the farm, on ebay and other websites that take paypal, not always the cheapest, but convenient with everything on my phone, PayPal then charges my credit card then that gets paid off in full every month. Works well, but can be a palava sometimes getting vat receipts.

To be honest, they were probably still cheaper than anywhere else even without the VAT back. Thanks for the link.

It looks like the real bodge is the grain store requiring you to tip through the spot.

Is it just stores with decades old infrastructure that require tipping through a spout or are new stores still being made like that?
