A tip we use for hydraulic tail doors is alway use the spool in reverse to the way you use the tip spool.
For example if you pull the spool to tip the trailer, set the door spool so you have to push it to open the door. If you accidentally use grab the wrong spool you wont open the door just pressure it closed.

I always put tip in number 1 and tailgate in 3 or 4 so there’s a bit of a gap.

You’re a hero on here just for getting the lid off the can!!
Dryer was stopped, so cut the bottom out of the bucket then sliced down the side to slide it over the shaft.....

Brother hooked the tractor off & it was only then I realised I didn't need to slice the bucket:rolleyes:, just drop it off....sometimes it's the simple things in life catch you out :rolleyes::rolleyes:.

Thought about that before but always worry that if I've got to unhitch it loaded that the tailgate is going to open as I pass through the pressure position to float the pipes

My latest creation:
Photo-0041.jpg

Piece of 60mm round steel, two holes gassed in the bucket, and a hole drilled in the rod for a bolt to hold it inside the bucket. Makes perfect pilot holes in stony ground for then pushing fence posts in, particularly plastic ones that need a pilot hole. Tried it this morning with some wooden posts on the edge of a yard which was very stony ground, worked really well, would never have got wooden posts into that ground without breaking them or them going off at fully angles.

A spot the recycled materials competition with the next photo:

How many recycled items can you see in the above picture, or indeed how many new ones, there's a lot more old than new!

Struggling to see any new?

The only new things were the nails holding the rails up (5" galvanised, splashed out there:)), and maybe the odd staple, though most of them came out of the old post that I replaced. Couple of new creo fence posts and thats it. Everything else re-used, even the nails holding the ally cap (old caravan side) on the gate post, and the coach screws which came from a gate taken down elsewhere.

Bit hacked off that all this fencing was brand new less than 10 years ago, and thanks to sh&te wood preservatives is all rotting off now, hence the repairs to try and get it to last a bit longer.

right through all 4 layers ? i didn't think if that
Yup right through the lot. You can actually do away with the bolt on clamps as they become needless any way once you have bolted it the other way. I usually just use the clamps first to determine the height for the service box.

Beware the hidden “fifth” layer. It inside the tube. Which on mine is not a tube it’s 9/10ths of a tube wrapped over the top of the side plate which comes up inside it. You can easily break a drill bit(or several?)
