Firstly apologies as I know I am breaking the first and most sacred rule of TFF and be assured I will fully repent over the forthcoming calving & gate tying season. The first rule of course being “suggesting there is a better solution than baler twine too any problem!”. Each year we build additional calving pens in our straw shed, the pens are roughly a hurdle & a half deep, well last year I realised that scaffold tube fittings also secure cattle hurdles. Two of them on opposite corners are solid ! We used them all last year without issue ,but this year I’m treating myself to some plastic covers for the excess bolts ! Got a sack of 50 2nd hand for £30 from a scaffolder on a Friday afternoon...Again apologies and I can only ask for your forgiveness !

Rigged this up for filling up seed bags with spring barley. Hope the council don't miss the cone!

Thanks , Yea twos just too wide for the adjacent feed passage and when the hurdles are only connected by the pins they get pushed in and out easily

This morning: inserts for fert trays. Cladding protection re-purposed.

Ive just found a use for one, nothing as romantic as filling seed bags, just keeps the bucket out of the sh t

Or more often, 'measure once, cut twice and weld them together!'

Especially the "weld them together" when it was lumber that you you had just measured once and cut.

I had to modify the soil pipe vent after putting a new conservatory roof up, none of the builders merchants stock 82mm fitting so I bodged a join by heating the pipe with the heat gun and pushing the joiner in, then used some fencing wire for a pipe clip, broke my heart to sacrifice 2 brand new stainless steel screws though.

Hurdle was tied to post with band made some lugs and welded them on. Any guesses what there made of only had to grind abit of a curve into them holes already there

how will you lift the other gate off now?
I think they are off an electric pole
