To be fair, it worked a treat . Loading another bale with the clamshell was touch and go , but it was going to be fed anyway View attachment 971660
Get the bale standing up right then sit the bucket edge against the side of the bale, throw a sling from the top of the bucket around the top quarter of the bale, then just crowd back and let the sling hold the bale.
Was a video somewhere if a guy moving bales that way with something like an old zettlemyer loader and it was working a treat

Nearly too embarrassed to post this, cousin was doing some mowing for me, rang to say the drive shaft has come off.

I took tools I thought I'd need, (big hammer) the balls where still there but the washer and spring that hold them in place were wonky, only thing I had in pickup was a cow bandage so I wrapped it up to keep the ball retainer and balls in the right place, 12 hrs later its still there!

Just got make sure you wrap it right way!

No picture and almost started a new thread for workshop hints and tricks but thought it wasn’t really worthy 😂 but a little trick I got shown years ago to pick something up that’s been dropped somewhere your hand can’t get and isn’t magnetic.

Get a good long cable tie or similar and put a blob of sticky grease or even better some silicon on the end and fish out your small dropped item
