I presume you are transferring slurry into the hatch. I like your bodge but why would the slurry not just find it's way through the slats without the extension?

A mate used one on the bottom of his snow plough
I was transferring it from one chamber to another. The chamber it is going into is at the far end of the shed. It empties out slowest, so over the years it has accumulated most dry matter. We have a stirrer now, so gave it a stir before emptying it. Still didn't clear all of the shitberg, so we refilled with runny slurry from the other end of the shed and went again. Worked better second time, but still a way to go.
(Background is that a food processing plant shut down last year, which meant we lost one of the ingredients for our liquid feed. The new ration contains twice as much barley. The barley husk floats to the top of the slurry, causing merry hell with all aspects of slurry handling, right from the slat through to the dribble bar. Alternative rations are being investigated, but we still have some shitbergs to clear.)

Just a thought as l assumed somebody's made a plastic barbeque. Is there evidence to confirm this or are we all looking at a home made parts washer or similar ?

It's a pisstake, but it seems that the joke has gone straight over your head. The two pictures even show different types of barrel.
Obviously I got it totally wrong, but I've never underestimated stupidity after hearing how a neighbour had a small bonfire on his lawn. He was upset that the grass got burnt as he'd put cardboard down first to protect it. This is totally true and he was highly intellectual but obviously lacking common sense

Ran into a neighbour a couple of days ago,he a very intelligent man and does consulting work in big businesses to improve their efficiency. He was telling me about his fancy new car and how he was going to switch over to using diesel as the mileage was supposed to be better than petrol,stupidly I asked was he changing the car again he said no just the fuel type. First time in a while I was stuck for words.

Managed to dislodge end lump of cubicle curb with scraper this morning. So drilled and pegged it, to base, with some rebar off cuts. Hopefully it'll stay there for the rest of the winter
