Quicke softdrive problem

Softdrive isn't working on massey/quicke loader. Was told most likely to be burst accumulator but not sure as now and again it seems to come on. Thought it was electrical but power going and stopping as meant to at plug 4 inches from actuator.

Took actuator off and put power on and off to see if I could see/feel any movement but couldn't.
Any advice on how to proceed appreciated.

Battery voltage across the solenoid with the solenoid connected, or use a hefty (21Watt) test bulb. The meter on its own wont test the circuit properly, especially a bad / dirty connection. You need the solenoid or bulb to load the circuit.

Solenoid probably doesn't even click

Unscrew the accumulators when you're in there anyway.

More than likely that at least one will be burst and full of oil.

I replaced mine and despite always switching off softride when lifting weight, they burst again within a year.

Quicke offered nothing, saying they are a wearing part.

This is the first quicke I've had, great loader, apart from the suspension and awful backup from them.

Never bothered turning off suspension on previous loaders, and it lasted the life of the boom.

Accumulators available from other suppliers, just follow the spec (numbers) on the side

They are if their available, had acculumator go on my gearbox and it was oem protected so only available from main dealer so they can charge what like as your stuffed as you can't get it anywhere else. Apparently it's becoming more common according to my local hydraulic dealer.

Best soft ride I had was on a mf/quicke 895 , the 3 newer dimension type I’ve had have had crap soft ride, been really disappointed tbh only had another because it was already on the tractor (secondhand),probs go for a stoll next time

Just had mine replaced again 4th time in 7 years if anyone has any details of any other reliable accumulators that will fit in the boom cross section as the originals please inform the forum users
Thankyou in advance

How much movement should you see in the solenoid when powered on and off
