There is a mute button on the side panel, have you accidentally activated it?

I'd call the main dealer out. Sounds complicated.

And has to be matched to tractor apparently. Have one I got swapped out when bought my 6125r as wanted a hands free and Tech's put it in the floor of the tractor as said it wouldn't be any use to anyone else.

Try disconnecting the battery for a couple of minutes and see if that makes any difference. The radio is on of the few things that has a permanent live to it so may need a big button resets if it’s developed a fault.
May be worth checking the fade also in case it’s been turned to the rear speakers and not got any, Failing that the internal amp may have died.

Put in a complete new radio with hands free. None of the buttons on side console now work with new radio as are not compatible anymore.

Apparently the JD branded radios generally are not of the greatest quality .

Try to pull radio and check speaker connection. If Speakers working, by any radio from e-bay or any where else and change. For 40-50 £ you will by with hand free and DAB. All John Deere radios have computer inside, so all radios have they own software. But if you will disconnect radio you dont have any faults. So just fitt any radio, just one minus that you can not atjust anything from command center. From john deere radio wiring just use power, ground and speaker wiring. CAN Bus wiring leave not connected. If you will fit radio from another troctor you need to update radio software, as all controllers have inside your tractor serial number. For better signal did you have external aerial?? When JD6R came they was fitted with aerial under the roof. Many peaple was complaining and dealers was fitting external aerials

If you wire a none JD radio directly to the battery and then directly into the speakers and not using any JD wiring already in the tractor it works as I’ve seen it. The problem is the integration into the armrest so bypass the lot.

You can use JD wiring power and ground. Just use ground, ignition and battery power from plug and speakers wires. I have fit many radios to R tractors and all works. Explain whats difference is you use power from battey? Why can not use JD radio pawer? Battery power on JD radio plug comes from battery, then fused and goes to radio. If you seen somewhere that radio was taking power direct from battery so guy who done jub dont understand wiring :)
