I've just watched an advert from I think Sun Life about over 50's funeral insurance. There was some chat about parsnips and so on but everyone in it was white. All 2 of them. Is this the thin end of the wedge? They could at least have had a mixed race couple in the next door garden. I can't believe they are still getting away with this. Should Roger Martin be put in jail?

Having been in England over the last three weeks i am sure the number of mixed race families in adverts is far higher than in reality it actually started to irritate me as it seemed a bit unneccesary probably an attempt to cover all bases. As i have two mixed race kids i cannot be racist. However in all the ads i did not see any half white half indian kids are my children and others like them being discriminated against.

I've been listening to one ad on YouTube, which has repeated a few times now, which I believe is not appropriate.
It's black people talking about the 'black community', celebrating black culture, black role models and black power. Seriously? I mean, delete the word black from each of those and replace with white, and would it not be called racist and not allowed to be shown?

I know i was being flippant but it seems that mixed race and same sex couples sell these days. Not many adds with single mothers and absentee farmers as is more likely.

Well for the last three weeks i have been an absentee farmer leaving me wife to get on with the farm in Kenya but i did mean father. With regard the colonisation of my wife she’s better qualified and her parents were doctors both European educated and when they found out their daughter was marrying a Farmer they were mortified. Interestingly though both my Children who are doing history at University have written essays in support of colonisation which have n’t gone down well with their tutors. The premise of their essays was if it was n’t for the British their ancestors would n’t have left India and India is n’t a nice place.
I have made myself unpopular on another sports forum for suggesting the descendants of slave have got a much better standard of living than most of those who are still in the areas the slaves were captured from

If you watch History Debunked on Youtube you learn a lot about the white slave trade which was just as prevalent as that for the black Africans. Slavers even raided the south coast of England and carried off locals as slaves, for many years.

Up until the end of the Black Death in medieval times the majority of the population of the British Isles were serfs little more than slaves to the Lords of the Manor. We don’t talk much about that because we’ve moved on.

Slavery is still going on in the UK. I did a stint as a taxi driver after my life went wrong and we did some courses and seminars as we would be the people used to traffic and it's terrifying the methods that are used. Mainly young white girls and even in places like Devon. Horrific and deeply disturbing.
