Not sure where you are but at last it's a bit "meaningful" in the last half hour near Bury
Well that's a new one
It's been meaningful from daylight till four o'clock out here, we've had enough meaning now to last till may thanks,
It'd be nice to think about sowing some s.barley soon, but this weeks knackered now.

In Wales, foot of Black Mountain this weekend. 3 days, 3 inches of rain. None needed.
Back in Essex, 0.5 inch of rain in past 3 days - all needed.
I decided not to post in "What makes you smile" due to likely inevitable abuse.

@slim shiny and I could take you to places on the Brecks that hardly grow any grass over a whole year (say 12 miles from here)
I've never been over your part of the world, it's just so hard to believe it can stay dry for.more than two days at a time,
We're on light soil here though, and need a rainy day a week through summer to avoid crops suffering,
We usually get it.

It's so wet here now, that if it stopped tomorrow[ not forecast too], it would be 10 days before my heavy land would be dry enough to sow.
Said to agronomist today, that i doubt any of the T0 will be done and we will move on to T1 in a couple of weeks.

Good drying day today ,mind it's April for heavens sake , forecast is settled but coolish.

Yup nice and breezy but got the coat on again only 10deg, lucky haven't pulled up the heavy land so will give it another day then pull it up Thursday if its still drying and hopefully drill Friday if not too sticky

Believe it or not I ploughed the last 12 acre of beet land today the wind has dried things up a treat. if we don't get any rain tonight which I don't think we will then father will get them drilled tomorrow into a near perfect seedbed.

A weird one last night! The sound like a train approaching which could be heard above the TV and the dog started whining. The noise increased to almost deafening, then sudden downpour of hail for a few minutes. It stopped as if someone had flicked a switch. The ground was white for a bit. The forecast was dry, so I dont know what was going on. Maybe I should pay my poll tax....
