You know me so well without knowing meHis requirements are as big as possible for as little as possible
Will need to check but sure my 20k litre tank was no where near £20,000!I've got 2 rainwater harvesting tanks with filters, one at each farm. 12500 l, the other 30000 l for spraying mainly. A 5000l also with a ball cock fed off a bore hole.
12500 l one I got a severn trent grant for. Should have got a bigger tank mind.
Price of a tank is was just under £1 per litre
Can get a 20k litre one for around 2kWill need to check but sure my 20k litre tank was no where near £20,000!
Just edited. Will need to check but sure my 20k litre tank was no where near £20,000!
Will sell you a ibc for £800.
£1.38 a cube hereHow much is water per litre now?
Don't really buy any nowdays.
The grant I got from severn trent covered the cost of tank, drain pipes and filter. Paid for about half the concrete, only a 4m x 4m pad costing bugger all really.I looked into this a few years ago on the Severn Trent grant, didn't go for it in the end as we were spending on another project at the time.
We were quoted by JRH Water Management, think they said for our 90'x90' shed we needed 2x 20000lt tanks! Sounded excessive tbh, and the recommendations for the concrete slab under the tank was serious £££
Possibly because a full tank at 20 ton weight on a relativly small area ,maybe 2.5 or 3m, it will need Something fairly solid underneath.I looked into this a few years ago on the Severn Trent grant, didn't go for it in the end as we were spending on another project at the time.

all of my 20.000l ( which are NOT big tanks ) plastic tanks are just sitting on a crusher dust or sand pad, on level ground. Very rarely see any on concrete slabs

If a Rapid Plas Tank is correctly installed and regularly maintained, it will give you trouble free service for years to come. Here is how to install your Rapid Plas Rainwater Tank:
- The tank site must be flat and level, the area well compacted and free from any rocks, stones and sharp objects
- Ensure that the prepared site is at least 600mm larger in diameter than the tank
- A 75mm (3”) base of compacted crusher dust may be used as a tank pad. A reinforced concrete slab is also acceptable and must be greater than the diameter of the tank
- If a material other than concrete is used, a retaining wall or surround must be provided to prevent erosion
- The overflow must be piped well clear of the tank to avoid undermining of the tank base.
- Ensure that a flexible hose of at least 300mm (12”) is installed after the outlet valve to absorb any shocks or movement
