Raising Finance

We are taking on the tenancy of a much larger holding and need to raise some finance to increase livestock levels and buy bigger/better kit. Very fortunately we have cash in the bank and no dept. However, we need to raise more finance. Will use bank if we have to, but we are wondering if anyone could recommend a company that funds tenanted farm businesses? Cheers

A bank is most likely to be the best option.
HP for kit
Lots of cattle going through auction marts are funded by likes of Shire Leasing.

Beware some of the companies that provide "asset finance ". Been threads on here about some in that sector where the small print hides lots of problems

Talk to your accountants, they will know your situation better than random contributers to TFF

In what way ?
Some are pretty unscrupulous in the small print, generally not a huge issue unless you default or keel over unexpectedly, not uncommon for terms to alter between quoting and signing even with the better known chaps, its always worth reading what you are signing up to!

Like Ward (AG credit) is a good independant to deal with and can organise loans as well as machine credit.

How much money are we discussing?

4 figures?

Low 5 figures?

My bank account has given me a 30k loan @ 7.5% on my current account that I can apply for online whilst having a cup of tea in my living room.

I've no idea if I can better that through the business account but thought it was interesting all the same.
