And if he's chasing you down flick a m8 washer out the back window every now and againHow do people rake fields using a 30ft rake in front of a large SPFH, how many times do you guys go around the headland? I see some people go around 2 times and others 3 times.
Any tips on getting dead straight rows? Tia
Ask the guy driving the forager as he will be pee'd off if its not what he wants ..get a cheap gps ? Or just rake from one face &keep that ?.How do people rake fields using a 30ft rake in front of a large SPFH, how many times do you guys go around the headland? Unless he tells you otherwise, 3 times. Remember the trailer has to go round the outside of the forager at the same time when they're turning. How do people rake fields using a 30ft rake in front of a large SPFH, how many times do you guys go around the headland? Thanks. On the third headland row do you square off the edges as I assume the turning angle would be awful tight for the trailer man?Unless he tells you otherwise, 3 times. Remember the trailer has to go round the outside of the forager at the same time when they're turning.
Don't overthink trying to drive straight. Just pick a point at the other end of the field about 15ft from the edge of your previous run and aim for it. Once you get your eye in you won't even realise you're doing it.
Whichever way you do it, will be wrong.
There's too much responsibility on the rake.
I prefer being on the trailers.
Till I hit something.
Most of them have steering axles nowadays so it makes getting in gateways a bit easierRake is quite relaxing, although I confess I have never done it with the forager chasing right behind me. More modern rakes are a joy to use, the main obstacle being getting the thing in the gateway.
if it has a steering axle dont drive it like its a trailer, you'll tip it overMost of them have steering axles nowadays so it makes getting in gateways a bit easier
