i don't think thats bad...after all there needs to be a return for designer.....and it looks easy, portable and justifiable for smaller flocks:)

I think if you compare the manufacturing involved, compared to a spring scale weigh crate it seems expensive - considering they can be bought for around £400.

But yes, it's firmly on my list (y)

I was after the same thing. Like a weigh create that I can clamp them in. Don't like the idea of the rope clamp idea as think it would loose grip as some point. Would rather it with a gate at the front also. Ordered a iae scanweigh create and tru test reader etc. Still no use for dagging, dosing etc though.
Hi, we have been hovering over the choice of weigh-crate for ages and really need to get one now. Prices are generally eye-watering but we've been offered a pretty good price for a new scanweigh + entry level scale, I'll be grateful if you'll share your thoughts about yours.

It's coming this week. I got a grant for it and was wanting it with trutest electrics so I can use the reader stick and screen on my cattle crush to. Iae weren't keen supplying it that way but they've came round now. Looked at a lot of them and think it's a good option.

Thanks for that, please let me know what you think when you get it. I've had a few 'customised' things from IAE and they've been pretty good, trutest is a good choice. A friend has told me that his brother has the IAE supplied Gallagher weighing kit, and that it is alright - but I really would prefer a play around with it first before ordering. Cheers.

I'm not convinved by it. But then I've only seen the pictures on the web. Think it would make things rather slow, constantly tightening and loosening the rope...

I think I'll be investing in a combi clamp instead.

Yeh I will let you know. I am holding of drawing the next lambs waiting for it so I better come this week.

I bought one at Kelso tup sale. Used it for dosing/blousing/fly treatment of 100 lambs so far. Very pleased. It holds the lambs securely, although these were Hampshire Down x lambs with plenty of wool. The Easycare ewes at bolusing time will be the test. Not used the weigher yet. It's pretty heavy but managing to move it around on a sack barrow.

The friend I mentioned earlier said clean shorn ewes were no bother so shedders should be fine too.

What weight is in it? I didn't think they were that heavy... They don't look heavy anyway. Good to hear your getting on fine with it(y)

Got our gripper a few weeks ago, delivered promptly after ordering- used it for bolusing dagging, worming and Enzo/toxo lambs so far.
Very pleased with it takes the physical effort out of handling sheep and even the old man was asking what we did before we had one of these :)

Does it not give you RSI using it all day? Would it take a lot of doing to fix some kind of step to tie the rope to instead of pulling on it?
