Just a few of the things I have done in the workshop last winter. (moledrainer is on another thread sorry)
RAPE SEEDER AND CHAFER QUICK START ON DISCORDON.

Did it take some head scratching to fit on? yes :)
Did we make a tidy job? yes :)
Did it look the dogs danglys? yes :)
Did it work ? NO :(
back to drawing board.

Adapted twin beam mole drainer, put it on skids to aid trash flow (copied our old ransomes c94), put a pair of discs in centre to cut slot (off dowdeswell plough) and made the skids removable as well as a centre point to pull it as a single leg deep. then shot blasted and painted.

The discordon was to aggresive on our land i think, when it got a bit wet it ripped in and then the clay just stuck to the rear packer and lipped up to the nozzle holders. I am chuffed with the discordon as a primary cultivator and also pleased with the horstine and chafer but dont think that they are good together for me.
I will try on another machine i think I would like to strip tillage it but finances say no.

We run a trio, in a textbook year the osr comes up a treat this year however too many lumps so while much has come some did not. We now have the option to put osr in with a cultipress so the bulk will go in on the sumo but if its too lumpy a second pass with the cultipress will put it in. The worst of the ground this autumn was where it was buggered about with in the wet in the spring.
