If you undo the two nuts on the front of box then slide box off bolts. At the back under all sh*t and oil is a circlip, remove this and poush shaft out .Inside are two standard rubber o rings (think 13mm but not sure).Hope this helps.

john you keep saying that for the 100acres a year you do its not worth spending more than £2000? why isnt it your what late 20's how long do you plan on ploughing that 100acres for? another 20 years would be a workload of 2000 acres, why not just try and scrape together another to buy what you want and then youll be set for life?

have a look at a Khun
good stong plough easy to use and cheap on wearing metal.

dont knock it until you have tried it!!!

have heard good things about them tbh, local JD dealer is pushing them quite hard, has sold them into previously lemken/kv men with no difficulty

they look well built for what they are too, far better than a KV

just a shame they out of my price bracket, the 2k dowdy will have to suffice, when i find it!!!!

Having worked in parts department for a new holland dealership for 19 years I encountered kuhn,Lemken, dowdeswell, kverneland, ransome and overum.tended to get to know the main problems of all of them.kuhn good but exp metal,kv very good and popular metal reasonable, ransome always had turnover problems esp the splined ram casting.I would think dowdeswell dp8 would be ideal for you pretty strong but light with cheap metal.i run a 5 furrow dp8b at home never a problem with it.

Sorry to bring up this thread again..

But how much is a Ransome's 300 plough worth? ( depending on the metal/ welds etc of course ) and can you still get the parts for them?
