After a pair of mould boards for my ransomes ts59 m match plough, current ones have plates been welded on the front edge and they fur up like hell!!! Especially after this weekends match!!
not sure what i should be expecting to pay to be honest, had the plough a while just getting around to fine tuning it, got so fed up with scraping the boards off on every turn on sunday, have you any details for westlakes?
why so expensive???? is there any bad points to using repro other than resale value?? i couldnt find any markings on the current boards whel looking earlier but guessing they are yl183 or equivalent repros, also would i gain anything by fitting TCN bodies or would that make it illegal as per rules (still a bit new to the match ploughing game)
why so expensive ? they stopped making them 30 year ago thats why, repro boards are fine if set right, and will plough just as good, as for the sticking of soil, it could be the type of land, and some soils will stick to genuine
and as your ploughing with a 135, then TCN is the way to go and into the classic class
ah, didnt realise that, I plough in classic class anyway but wasnt sure what the score with TCN bodies was, the boards that are on there at the moment the front two have had lumps welded on the front edge where they wear, presumably from when it was used on the farm to get some more use out of them, bloody pain in the arse though for furring up!! had big issues with trash bunging up between the second skimmer and disk, was the only disc i couldnt move with the spanners too !!
