sorry!! They changed the music and I jumped!! The robot asks why you have the audacity to ring them, after all they have made it as hard as they possibly can for you to find their phone number, and when it dosnt approve of your answer / query, it tells you to go and look on the internet help pages and 'goodbye!' I DID which is why I am now ringing them! What I am asking everyone is ..HOW do I control rapidly shortening temper? I used to be so laid back, calm under all disaster situations, but this is getting beyond a joke. An hour and a half now and its not like I have nothing else to do.

One of the most infuriating and time wasting aspects of modern life I’m afraid.
Blood pressure goes through the roof.......’your call is important to us, please hold for the next available operator........?

‘Did you know that you can report most faults on line at www.timewastersareus.co.uk......
‘You are number.. eight...in the queue, your call is really important to us........please continue to hold for about two and a half hours for the next available operator.......

Just dial the number and then stay silent until a human talks to you. Put it on loudspeaker and "mute', and get on with your life.

What's the company?
On this occasion it was o2 but they are not unique by a long way... and not saying anything dosnt work with some firms .. robot gives you a couple of chances to get it right, and then says cant understand .. goodbye.

You can even choose your type of music with some firms! One firm told me, after 20 minutes working up the queue, that they dont accept calls after 20 minutes waiting .. goodbye!! Just as well they hung up on me and couldne hear what I called them!!

I'm with Vodafone, and they queue for me - if it's more than about a five minute wait, they let you hang up and they'll call you back when they're free.

Maybe something to consider when your contract is up next? For me, customer service is a huge factor in chosing who gets my hard earned.

I am normally pretty laid back, but phoning a broadband company is bound to get me walking in small circles, drooling and jibbering!
In the past month I must have spent over 7 hours waiting and trying to explain the problem to the provider on the phone. They dont answer emails. One ticket was opened over a month ago.
I was told by one "customer service agent" that 0.2meg was acceptable.......
After being asked to run a speed test, and at that speed, the test does not work, they told me as I had not "complied with instructions" they could not help me.
After two Openretch bods climbed poles, replaced wires etc, I am now up to the dizzying heights of 0.6 meg.
No, you are not doing me proud....
Hand cutting a thorn hedge is a doddle in comparison.

I complained to BT because their online fault checker says my line is fine and won't let me book a call out. It's not - broadband is lucky if it works half the time and 0.4 to 0.5 is average speed. Someone tried to phone me once on Saturday afternoon ( had no mobile signal) then sent an email and a letter saying that as they had tried unsuccessfully to contact me, they had closed my complaint. If I wasn't happy I was to call them - waiting times of 40 minutes plus was part of my initial complaint! 😠

Also another with Bt, my mum had a lightning strike come through the phone line in the last storms a month ago, has blown the (underground ) phone line and the house to bits, with probably £3.5k of damage to walls and windows etc. They promised the phone line would be fixed in a few days, then in a week, then in another week. It is now over a month since the strike and according to Bt the phone line works, and has tested good, it does ring when you call, but not at my mum's. The nearest complete telephone wire is nearly 200m away, with nothing in-between the house and wire.
I did read somewhere that if you were without service for 30 days you could leave the contract with no penalties, but I'm darned if I can find it ! I've replaced her phone with a sim only deal for £7 a month for unlimited calls,so only need to sort a 4g internet for her now.

Must say that EE are always very quick to solve internet issues. Are they still called EE?

They answer the phone quite promptly and will happily try and resolve the problem by talking you through a few basic instructions while they monitor the results at their end and make appropriate adjustments etc.

If ever there is a fault we are usually back on line the same day, but what impresses me most is that they actually answer the phone and talk to you!

I have been told by BT that 1Mb is acceptable, of course the tardyness is always down to the user, your computer, router has a fault etc. I was once told that if I walked into PC World and mentioned I had been sent by BT they would give me a good deal on a new PC. :banghead:

My pet hate is insurance companies who spank you on the premium if you foolishly allow the policy to autorenew, only then offering a massive discount if you bother to ring up and tell them you have a better quote. Fudging ridiculous.
My wife’s old car was with admiral, auto renew quote was around £350 for the car at the time, she went on moneysupermarket or something and had a quote from admiral for £250, phoned them up to ask for a better price from the £350 and they said no way, she then went with admiral through money supermarket at £250 and spoke to the same person again :ROFLMAO:

EE is sadly now BT.
